AUGUST UPDATE 2024

In our July/August Newsletter we unveiled major updates to 2 of our key categories – Aluminium Sheet and Business / Wallet Cards. In this update we will go a bit further into detail on how they have been improved with the addition of many of our new finishes and colours – alongside photos of each – to help you choose the best option for you.

Our new Outdoor Grade metal is now on many garden and sign products across our range, as well as in the Aluminium Sheet section along with our new great value thicker metal (1mm+)– we finally have a viable, better value alternative to Chromaluxe! Plus, our White and Bright Silver Double Sided finishes are gradually making their way onto an array of Christmas decorations in preparation for the festive season!

This update we will be recapping some of the new products that launched in our last newsletter, as well as introducing a couple of new ones – including of course our celebratory Yorkshire shape! – and continuing to explore and show off some brilliant ideas for Christmas.

Finally, another reminder about our Summer Shutdown happening soon! The workshop will be closed for the week incorporating the August bank holiday, so please remember when ordering before, and during this week (as the website will remain open for orders) that we will be extremely busy before and on our return, as we catch up with the backlog. Keep an eye on the homepage of the website for turnaround delay messages, plus check the traffic light system at the top of every page to see at a glance our current workshop status.

Yorkshire Day!

To celebrate Yorkshire Day on the 1st August we decided that it was the perfect time to launch our brand new Yorkshire Shape – this is a brilliant stylised version that hopefully everyone will love. With York voted as a top city break in the UK consistently we’re sure it will be popular countrywide! And as many of you will know, we are situated in Yorkshire – right on the coast! – so we are thrilled to add this shape to our range (can you spot us on our printed map??).

It is available in a nice handful of sizes, allowing you to create fun pieces of wall art with our A4 and A5 sizes, hanging decorations with the A6 size, fridge magnets with the Large sizes, and even keyrings with the Medium and Small sizes!

The shape fits in great with our popular Isle of Wight, Angel of the North and Tudor/Yorkshire Rose shapes, and this should be a little hint towards our future plans… We intend to expand on our range of ‘landmark’ themed shapes which will be ideal for creating all kinds of tourist / holiday gifts, keepsakes, we showcase these in our Souvenirs and Mementoes section! So any requests for the next areas, events or landmarks to be added – please let us know your suggestions … and then we’ll run a poll in our Facebook group to select the favourites and the order we’ll work on them!

Aluminium Sheet Section!

Recently, the Aluminium Sheet – 0.5 and 0.7mm Section has undergone a major revamp to accommodate the addition of so many new colours and finishes! This is one of our most popular categories and contains a wide range of standard rectangular and square sizes.

On each of these listings you will find that our newly updated range of metal colours and finishes are now available grouped in mini menus – all with an image example for each option to show you what the colour looks like. In the gallery you will also find additional photos of the metal colours and finishes, including some printed examples.

Hopefully you find this new way of listing our Alu Sheet easy to navigate and pick from! Below is a quick overview guide of all the options offered to you on these products:

Firstly, you will need to choose your metal colour or type from the drop down menu. Once you have made your selection, a new menu will pop up to allow you to choose the exact thickness and finish you would like. You can see from the photo above that under our White Metal we have 6 different thicknesses and finishes for you to choose from.

Handy Tip: You can click on the magnifying glass button at the top right of the images to view a larger version of the image!

Next up is a simple choice between square or rounded corners, which is a required selection. Then it’s onto the non-required expanding selections – so if you don’t need any of these options you don’t need to click on the menus, you can just add to cart straight away instead. If you do though, click on the menu that you need to see the initial choices, and these may then give you further menus and choices.

First it’s the hole options. You will notice that hole options may differ depending on the size of the item. Selecting ‘No Holes’ will bring up an additional menu to allow you to select from fixing options such as: magnet strips, self adhesive hangers, and foam pads. Selecting some of the hole options will bring up other menus including hanging options such as: ribbon, ball chain, twine, and more.

After that, the final menu contains options for dry wipe pens, permanent markers, and MDF – you can choose multiple things from this menu if you wish.

We have also started our UPDATE of Aluminium Sheet – Thicker metal 1mm+ section to add in the new colours and finishes we now have in stock in the much better value standard 1mm we have imported from China (added in list form at present alongside the Chromaluxe). We are now offering White, Brushed and Satin Silver, and Brushed Gold with 1 mm Double Sided in White as well, plus Outdoor grade White in 1 mm both Single and Double Sided! – many at nearly half the price of the similar Chromaluxe version.

Outdoor Grade Metal!

Our new Outdoor Grade metal has been added to many products across our range as well as to the Aluminium Sheet Section (featured above) and Door Plaque Section. It is available in White, Brushed Silver, and Brushed Gold in 0.5 mm, plus White and Double Sided White in 1 mm.

This metal is coated with extra layers of UV resistant polymer which means that it will fade less in direct sunlight compared to standard metal. The manufacturers quote 5 years+ just as Chromaluxe do but exact fading time will depend on many factors like colours used, direct sunlight exposure time, strength of sun, etc etc…

We have added this ‘much better value than EXT’ metal as options to our standard 0.5, 0.7 and 1mm sheet and door plaques and also many of our garden and memorial products including: the Plant/Memorial Markers, Panoramic Street Signs, Rail Signs, Numbers, Rings (to use for outdoor wreaths!), the A4 Bar Signs and Shields, and some of our Halloween items (for outdoor decorations!) and have added a new lower price stable/door plaque item in 3 sizes in the outdoor white 1mm range!

Double Sided Metal!

Our Best Selling Pack of Baubles is now available in the 73mm Double Sided White 0.5 mm and Double Sided Bright Silver 0.5 mm! Both of these Double Sided finishes are also available on the original Best Selling Bauble Listing across all the other sizes.

We are also starting to add our Double Sided finishes to the rest of our popular Christmas Decorations – such as the birds, snowflakes, and gonks – nicely in advance for you to start stocking up and creating some wonderful pieces for the festive season.

Our Trading Cards are also now available in Double Sided White 0.5 mm, 0.7 mm, and 1 mm! These are perfect for creating any kind of personalised trading card – including (but not limited to) Football cards and Pokémon style cards. Also just added is the option for 3 mm radius corners, now allowing you to choose between square, 3 mm, 4 mm, and 6 mm corners so you can match your product to whichever kind of card you want.

New Products!

The Themed Top Bookmarks are a new addition! Joining our already existing Apple Bookmark are two sizes of T-Shirt Bookmarks and a Circle Topped Bookmark. They were made with sport in mind, so would be perfect for anyone who loves both reading and sports! The T-Shirts can be printed up with the kit colours of a preferred team and the Circles can become footballs, basketballs, cricket balls, bowling balls, and more…

The Luxury Large Bottle Openers are brand new! They’re a nice heavyweight bottle opener that come with a printable 0.22 mm topper in either White or Pearl Silver for you to design however you want, along with the option to add magnet strips to allow you to transform it into a brilliant addition to any fridge!

Our Magnetic Family Sets and Magnetic Countdown Sets are brand new ways of using our Magnetic Steel. They are fantastic for both festive and non-festive gifts and decorations – a Halloween countdown, Birthday countdown, or a countdown to going away on a fun holiday would all be great ideas! You can even utilise the dry wipe feature of our metal to create a versatile countdown where the occasion can be written in and changed whenever the user has something to look forward to!

We have a new Poodle and Fox Shape (both slotting nicely into our range of canines!) They are both available in a range of sizes allowing for all sorts of cool products to be created – from keyrings and fridge magnets to wall art and dry wipes!

The Poinsettia Flower is another new addition to our collection of flower shapes. It is great for gardening fans, but also works well as a classic decoration for Christmas! You can even layer the shapes over each other to build up a stunning 3D effect (for an elegant table centrepiece on your Christmas table maybe?), and of course it’s a perfect addition to our seasonal wreath…

SNEAK PEEK: We’re working on a few new sporty themed sets in tins using our magnetic steel…

We recently had our workshop manager Claire’s son Lucas with us for his work experience week, and he came up with a brilliant idea for a Football Tactics Set! Ideal for individuals wanting to explore tactics or even for coaches to plan out and show off new game plans. The set will include: an A5 Ricoh sheet of 0.7 mm steel and standard 0.5 mm white, a selection of small t-shirts, a 25 mm circle, magnets, a dry wipe pen, and a tin with a printable topper to keep everything together!
